The Ground Series · SUD Group Curricula

Group curricula that do the heavy lifting — so you can focus on the room.

Evidence-based, trauma-informed substance use disorder curricula with word-for-word facilitator scripts, participant workbooks, and session documentation built into every session. Written by clinicians, for clinicians.

Why the Ground Series

The session, not just the topic.

Most curricula hand you a topic and leave you to build the session. The Ground Series hands you the session. Every group comes with a word-for-word delivery script, a participant workbook, and per-session documentation (Objective · Intervention · Group Topic) you can drop straight into a chart. It's warm, non-shaming, and grounded in the science of how recovery actually works — so a newer facilitator can run a strong group on day one, and a seasoned one can stop reinventing the wheel.

A note on the pilot period

We believe in being transparent about where these materials are. The Ground Series has been designed and reviewed by a team of qualified professionals — and it is currently in its piloting period, which means it is still subject to revisions.

What that means for you: purchases made during the piloting period include free access to the revised materials, which we'll send to buyers at the end of the pilot.

This applies to direct purchases. Pilot partners receive their own separate instructions and agreement.

About the authors

Written by clinicians who run groups.

Stephanie Johnson, LICSW

Stephanie Johnson, LICSW, is a psychotherapist with an online group practice. She began her career in 2008 as a co-occurring disorders case manager, and as she advanced her education and clinical work, she became an integral part of building co-occurring programs within agencies and supporting communities through county contracts aimed at reducing the stigma of both substance use and mental health disorders. Her clinical philosophy is grounded in self-determination and compassion, two principles woven throughout the approach and language of these curricula.

Kristina Bullington-Evans, SUDP

Administrator and CEO of Olympic Personal Growth Center, an intensive outpatient substance use treatment program. She has worked directly with clients and led treatment programs in behavioral health and addiction care since 2009, bringing both a clinical and an organizational lens to the work. Kristina specializes in treating adolescents with substance use disorders, alongside a strong background working with adults. She holds a BS in Addiction Counseling and a degree in Business Management, is a Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) and a nationally certified addiction counselor (NCAC), and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW). Her work is grounded in a warm, non-shaming approach that meets each client where they are.
